WHEDA small business loan guarantees help reduce the financial risk
to small business lenders and ensure that qualified Wisconsin small businesses
have access to funding.
The WSBG helps to acquire or expand a small business with favorable financing terms.
The NBRG helps to bring or expand business, or develop or rehabilitate commercial real estate in an urban area.
The CLG helps contractors complete contracts and build their business.
The Agribusiness Guarantee helps new or existing businesses obtain financing on favorable terms to develop or expand production of products using Wisconsin's raw agricultural commodities.
Farms and agricultural businesses play a major role in our
state’s economy and continued growth. Since 1985, WHEDA has supported agricultural
based businesses through its loan guarantee products.
CROP is a financing resource for farmers that provides guarantees on agricultural production loans.
FARM is a loan guarantee for agricultural producers who want to start, expand or modernize their operations.
Production Disaster Assistance Loan Guarantee Program was specifically designed
to offer a financial resource to Wisconsin farmers who have suffered damage
from extensive flooding, drought, or other natural disasters.
eligible for this loan guarantee program, a farmer must be unable to obtain
conventional financing at reasonable terms. A farmer must demonstrate the
likelihood of repayment and available collateral. Finally, the costs to be
covered must be related to acts of nature where the Governor has issued a
declaration of disaster.
August 9, 2016, Governor Scott Walker announced a
Federal Emergency Management Agency (FEMA) major disaster declaration
for northern Wisconsin counties impacted by July 2016 flooding. The
counties named in the declaration are Ashland, Bayfield, Burnett, Douglas,
Florence, Iron, Sawyer and Washburn Counties and the Bad River Band
of the Lake Superior Chippewa Tribe.
Farmers affected by the July 2016 northern floods can use the Disaster
Assistance Loan Guarantee Program for
fertilizer, seed, fuel, pesticides, herbicides, land rent, equipment rental and
repair, animal feed, water delivery in connection with commodities adversely
impacted, utility bills for the production of an agricultural commodity, and labor
costs directly related to planting and harvesting a commodity.
In an effort to spur greater economic development activity
in Wisconsin’s largest city, the Transform Milwaukee Guarantee offers a no-fee
business guarantee product for qualified small and medium sized businesses.
The Transform Milwaukee Loan Guarantee (TMG) program is a WHEDA exclusive! TMG was created to help small businesses located in the Transform Milwaukee* area obtain a loan to expand their business. The TMG program was specifically designed to offer an 80% loan guarantee
as an incentive for lenders to make loans to eligible Milwaukee small businesses and nonprofits that would otherwise be unable to obtain conventional financing at reasonable terms.
* Transform Milwaukee is a public-private partnership focusing on restoring
economic prosperity to the industrial, residential and transportation areas
connecting the City of Milwaukee’s 30th Street Industrial Corridor, Riverworks,
Menomonee Valley, Inner Harbor and the Aerotropolis. For more information,
WHEDA supports the Transform Milwaukee Initiative and is focused on supporting 5 core strategies:
Partnership Lending Program pairs WHEDA with community lenders, banks, credit
unions, community development institutions and other entities that provide
commercial loans to Wisconsin businesses.
The WPLP is intended to provide Wisconsin businesses with financing that could not otherwise be secured through traditional lending. The program partners WHEDA with local community Participating Lenders, banks, credit unions, economic development corporations, community development financial institutions, small business investment corporations, and other entities that provide commercial loans in the state.
WHEDA’s 504 participation program provides lenders with participation financing during the interim period before the sale of the SBA guaranteed debenture.
