April 14, 2016
State Senator Janet Bewley (Delta) is a new member of the Wisconsin Housing and Economic Development Authority (WHEDA) Board of Directors. Bewley was appointed by Senate Democratic Leader Jennifer Shilling.
“I’m delighted to welcome Sen. Bewley to our talented and dedicated WHEDA Board of Directors,” said WHEDA Executive Director Wyman Winston. “The senator once served as a Community Relations Officer with WHEDA. Sen. Bewley’s experience and institutional knowledge make her a tremendous fit for WHEDA and the affordable housing and business development opportunities we provide.”
I look forward to, once again, working to build on WHEDA’s record of helping people in every part of the state realize their hopes and dreams. |

“I am honored to be appointed to the WHEDA Board,” said Sen. Bewley. “WHEDA’s 40 plus year history of successful investment in Wisconsin housing and economic development initiatives demonstrates what we can do when we work together. I look forward to, once again, working to build on WHEDA’s record of helping people in every part of the state realize their hopes and dreams.”
WHEDA Board members include the Secretary of the Wisconsin Department of Administration, the CEO of the Wisconsin Economic Development Corporation, and six public members nominated by the governor and appointed by the state Senate. In addition, one state senator of each party and one representative to the state assembly of each party serve on the WHEDA Board. Members serve staggered four-year terms.
WHEDA was created in 1972 by the Wisconsin Legislature to provide low‐cost financing for housing, small business and agricultural development. Since 1972, WHEDA has financed more than 77,000 affordable rental units, helped more than 120,000 families purchase their first homes and made more than 29,000 small business and agricultural loan guarantees.
