The WHEDA Foundation, Inc., established in 1983 as a 501c3 nonprofit, is the philanthropic arm of WHEDA. The Foundation supports initiatives aligned with WHEDA’s mission by funding projects that address critical housing needs across Wisconsin.

With $150,000 financial support from the Heron Foundation and a $300,000 match from WHEDA, the WHEDA Foundation awarded La Casa de Esperanza and Hmong Wisconsin Chamber of Commerce funding to expand their housing counseling resources.

WHEDA Way Home is a WHEDA mortgage program, administered in partnership with approved lenders, that examines the whole credit and financial story of a borrower through a human-based approach. The mortgage itself is provided by WHEDA, while down payment assistance is offered through the Foundation with support from the Robert Wood Johnson Foundation.
