The Wisconsin Equity Investment Fund (WEIF) is a new program designed to spur equity investments in growing Wisconsin companies. The fund will be used for direct investment into small businesses in the state. The financing provided will leverage private capital investment.
WHEDA is providing $7 million for the WEIF program, which is expected to generate $70 million in private capital for equity investment in Wisconsin businesses.
WHEDA is partnering with a Wisconsin-based investment manager for WEIF:
WHEDA is using a portion of the State Small Business Credit Initiative (SSBCI) funds from Wisconsin’s award of $22.4 million in 2011 for investment into the WEIF. The SSBCI is a federal resource for job creation and business development in the U.S.
