WHEDA Conference 2023

Call for Session Proposals

Submission Deadline: March 20, 2023 11:59 PM CST

WHEDA Conference 2023 Overview

The Annual WHEDA Conference is back! The two-day, in-person conference invites attendees to Madison’s Monona Terrace. On November 6 and 7, professionals in the affordable housing industry such as developers, property managers, municipalities, lenders, investors, nonprofits, Tribal members, legislators, and other affordable housing stakeholders will gather together for learning and engagement opportunities.

WHEDA Conference 2023 will include panels featuring developers, property managers, and industry experts, as well as opportunities to engage with financial specialists and affordable housing leaders. Our goal is to secure a diverse line-up of local, regional, and national speakers to cultivate innovative insights and ideas to foster the next generation of affordable housing.

Requirements for Session Proposals

We plan to offer approximately 15 breakout sessions covering topics of critical importance to attendees. New, unique presenters and speakers outside of the traditional affordable housing space are welcome. WHEDA's hope is to influence and drive innovation amongst key stakeholders. We encourage the use of storytelling to deliver impactful messages regarding the importance of affordable housing and the expansion of housing equity. Possible topics for sessions could include, but are not limited to, supportive housing, best practices for property management, housing tax credits, community development, innovation in housing equity, multifamily housing models and impact, fair housing, workforce housing, and advancing homeownership.

Session Length: Sessions are 60-minutes total with a maximum of 45 minutes of presentation and 10-15 minutes of discussion/Q&A.

Speakers: The maximum number of speakers for each session is four, including the moderator. In rare circumstances, we may approve the inclusion of more than four speakers.

Proposal Limit Per Organization: Organizations are limited to two proposals, but may be asked to participate in more than two sessions.
