Frequently Asked Questions for Lenders: Procedures
How long does it take to get a decision from WHEDA?
Once we receive a complete application a decision will be made within 1 business day.
Can the Certificate of Deposit be used for collateral?

No, the Certificate of Deposit that WHEDA purchases to subsidize the loan cannot be considered as collateral for the loan.
What happens if the loan is pre-paid?

In the event that a Linked Deposit Loan is pre-paid, contact WHEDA. We will determine if we wish to redeem the Certificate of Deposit in full early, without penalty or loss of accrued interest, or if we will allow it to remain in your institution to mature as originally scheduled.
What happens if the loan defaults?

In the event that a Linked Deposit Loan defaults, the subsidy will terminate and WHEDA will redeem the Certificate of Deposit in full, without penalty or loss of accrued interest.
What happens when the Certificate of Deposit matures?

Since the Certificate of Deposit is non-renewable, the full-face amount plus accrued interest must be paid to WHEDA at maturity.
