Noodle Wrap Celebrates Grand Opening with WHEDA in Eau ClaireWHEDA business guarantee allows owners to construct new restaurant in South Point Shopping Center Eau Claire – The Wisconsin Housing and Economic Development Authority (WHEDA®) and city representatives gathered this morning to celebrate the grand opening of the Eau Claire-based Asian restaurant, Noodle Wrap, Inc. WHEDA Executive Director Antonio Riley joined Eau Claire City Manager Michael Huggins to speak at the event. Noodle Wrap’s owners opened the restaurant, located in Eau Claire’s South Point Shopping Center, as a result of receiving a WHEDA Neighborhood Business Revitalization Guarantee (NBRG) on a term loan in June 2007, which helped the company expand its business operations. "It’s exciting that our first NBRG in Eau Claire County could be offered to an Asian-owned business like Noodle Wrap that has deep roots in the community," said Riley. "WHEDA’s support of another Asian-owned business through our financing products demonstrates our commitment to serving this segment of Wisconsin’s population." Pang Cher Vue and wife Xong Lor Vue, owners of the family-run Noodle Wrap since 1996, used the NBRG on a term loan provided by Bank of Alma to construct a mixed-use commercial building for the new restaurant and to lease out space for other tenants. The new restaurant, located at 3021 Mall Drive, occupies over 2,000 square feet of the building and has a seating capacity of 60 people. The grand opening also featured a ribbon-cutting ceremony and free samples of traditional Hmong foods from Noodle Wrap’s current menu. Noodle Wrap relocated from 3529 Gateway Drive. WHEDA is an independent state authority that works with lenders to provide low-cost financing for housing and small business development in Wisconsin.
