WHEDA® Makes Donation to Support Flood Victims in WisconsinAmerican Red Cross will use the $25,000 to help with housing costs for homeowners displaced by floods Madison – The Wisconsin Housing and Economic Development Authority (WHEDA) announced a $25,000 donation to be made to the American Red Cross today in order to assist in flood relief efforts throughout the state. “Communities across the state have forged together and continue to work tirelessly to help with recovery efforts,” said WHEDA Executive Director Antonio Riley. “WHEDA wants to do its part to ensure that homeowners affected by the floods have a safe place to stay with their families during this time of need.” The WHEDA donation will be used for housing costs for Wisconsin homeowners who were displaced by the recent flooding. The Red Cross has been providing shelter, food, clothing, supplies and counseling for flood victims throughout the state over the past several weeks. “We are working very hard to ensure disaster victims in Wisconsin have the necessities they need during these difficult times,” said Tom Mooney, Red Cross Badger Chapter CEO. “On behalf of the Red Cross and hundreds of families affected by this disaster, I’d like to thank WHEDA for its donation. It will help us continue to provide important services to the people of Wisconsin.” WHEDA is an independent state authority that works with lenders to provide low-cost financing for housing and small business development in Wisconsin. WHEDA also provides emergency and transitional housing donations to community and relief organizations.
